New Zealand 50 Cent Split Planchet Error

Split planchet error, the coin strike occurring after the planchet split in two. The split face of the coin is the obverse. Strike weakness is apparent because of the underweight planchet. Weighs 6.85g, just slightly more than half a regular 50c weights (13.61g). The Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II dates this coin 1967 to 1985.

Note this is the opposite to another error coin in our coinalog K00068 but is not the other side of the split planchet as the combined weights equal more than a full coin weight. This coin may well date from a similar time period as it was purchased from the same seller.
