Australia 1917 R.S. Dunn Adelaide ANZAC Medallion
Interesting 27mm bronze medallion with suspension at top catalogued by Carlisle as C1917/1. Obverse shows left facing portrait of King George with FOR KING AND COUNTRY 1917 around the rim. The obverse is the same (except for the date) used on the common 1916 C1916/2 medallion issued by the Department of Education, Victoria. The reverse, however, is quite different. It shows a wreath with TO ANZAC FOR UNSURPASSED BRAVERY within. Around the wreath is the legend PRESENTED BY H.S. DUNN SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
