Sydney Harbour Bridge Pageant Medal 1932/4

Sydney Harbour Bridge Pageant Medal

Sydney Harbour Bridge Pageant Medal

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened March 19th 1932. To celebrate, the state Government declared that day a public holiday and along with the official opening celebrations a pageant was held on that day that extended to a week-long event. This medal was distributed at the pageant and the loop once contained a pin to attach to the lapel.

This medal with suspension loop measures 27mm and was struck by Amor Sydney. It appears it was originally enamelled with some blue paint remaining.
