British penny with a rather large inclusion rolled into the planchet and then fell away prior to the coin being struck. Design details particularly on Her Majesty’s crown and the second I of TH II show us the metal flow into the void indicating the hole was there at the time of striking. Below is a closeup of the reverse showing fishtailing on the crown above the portcullis. Underweight at 2.75g (should weigh 3.56g).
