The mob of roos reverse is prone to breaks in the die and these locations are the more well known. Affectionately called the backpack cud and spew roo cud this coin has both.
A crude copy of the $2 coin found in change.
A typical pancake broadstrike struck without the collar. No milling.
Struck in the collar there is milling present from the E of ELIZ around to the T of GRATIA (coincidently where the high lip has formed). Where there is no milling the collar strike is weak and you can see fishtailing of the letters GINA.
This coin was struck on a planchet with a thin edge. It’s underweight at 5.11g compared to the standard weight of 5.65g.
This coin wasn’t squarely in the collar when it was struck. This type of error is called a ramstrike or a high lip.
Struck out of collar, the resulting coin just slightly larger.
Struck without collar, see the closeup of the edge of the coin.
A typical broadstrike with no milling present.
