Interesting impromptu World War 1 Identity Disc crafted from an Egyptian AH1293/33 20 Quirsh silver coin with the reverse skimmed off. It has been crudely engraved:

If disc came with an ID tag cut from aluminium in the shape of a heart. It is about 1mm thick and is 55mm high by 42mm wide. One side is engraved:

The other side is engraved:

LONE.PINE.
6.8.15

Honorary Captain Henry Wells served in the 1st Battallion, 1st Australian Infantry, was a first day lander at Anzac Cove on 25 April 1915 and his unit fought at Lone Pine in August of the same year. You can view Henry Wells’ service record here.
