Beautifully “wiggle” worked love token on a Heaton Mint struck silver Egypt 5 Quirsh KM#308 (1910-1913) with attached loop. The side of the coin that formerly included the date and denomination has been completely skimmed and replaced with two interlinked love hearts with stars above and one star below. Inside the left heart is TO MOTHER and on the right is FROM GORDON with a flower to the right. The legends read GREETINGS 1918 FROM PALESTINE. The other side of the coin has only been partially skimmed (removing the Ottoman toughra) and replaced with EGYPT 1915 GALLIPOLI 1915 SINAI 1916-17 PALESTINE 1917 1918.

This love token was most likely created by a British or Australian soldier. Given that is was purchased in Australia a member of the Australian Light Horse is probable. Given the campaigns listed on the token most likely a member of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Light Horse Brigades as they were the only Light Horse Brigades to serve from the start of WW1 to the conclusion of the middle eastern campaign in Palestine in 1918.
