Carlisle T/9 struck in silver by Stokes in Melbourne circa 1934 for the opening of the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, Victoria. Front of medal shows the Shrine of Remembrance with “The National War Memorial of Victoria” above, and “Shrine of Remembrance” below. Back of the medal shows a wreath with the maker’s name below and within the wreath “IN HONOUR OF EIGHTEEN THOUSAND VICTORIANS WHO MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE FOR THE EMPIRE”. Toned and very attractive.
