Leather coin wallet presented to coin designer Stuart Devlin at the time of changeover to decimal currency, 1966. Orange leather sewn wallet, gilt stamped “STUART DEVLIN” inside and “AUSTRALIAN DECIMAL COINS” outside. The wallet has a soft leather foldover flap inside with compartments to fit each size coin. Coins inside include Coat of Arms round 1966 50 cent, platypus 1966 20c, lyrebird 1966 10c, echidna 1966 5c, frill necked lizard 1966 2c and feather tailed glider 1c dated 1969. The later date on the 1c assumes the original coin was lost at some point and replaced. This set was a showpiece of Devlin’s work for his own touch.

Similar set sighted in the National Coin Collection held at the Royal Australian Mint with the initials R. G. M of Prime Minister Sir Robert Gordon Menzies. No others seen.
