Large straight clipped planchet or end of bar. Unusual because there’s little apparent metal flow but this might be because the missing part of the planchet was attached when the coin was struck and then separated later.
This 20 cent error has been struck out of collar, then struck for a second time on it’s way out of the press against a blank planchet that was in the press.
The legends show evidence of more than one strike here with partial engagement of the collar die. The indent site shows a distorted enlarged partial obverse design (brockage). An exceptional error.
Weak strike reverse from oil or grease on the die during striking. Often called die fill or greasy die.
A high grade decimal coin with two errors.
Clipped planchet or bitten edge error 50 cent.
This coin the subject of the 2012 article in CAB magazine “Charles and Diana -A flawed pair”. Struck without collar.
